i think i have reached a certain point in every student's life where i dont understand anything that i'm learning now. i seriously think biology sucks la haha. recently we have to learn names of invertebrates and their adaptation to environment for one chapter. so for each animal, we must know their phylum, class and genus names. for instance the flat worm is Platyhelminthes, Turbellaria, Dugesia in that order. and this is just one out of the many different types of invertebrates we must know. we still have others like vertebrates and photosynthetic pigments which also have all these different names to describe their kingdom, class, order, phylum etc. the other day i was just counting how many stupid weird terms i have to learn and there's about 50! so i came up with my own method of remembering them haha. for example Oligochaeta (the class for round segmented worms like earthworms which have complete blood circulatory systems and oxygen carrying haemoglobin. respiration through skin or external gills found in the phylum Annelida). i split up the terms like: Oli (Oli from blacks), go, chae (some korean singer Chae Yeon), ta (another singer Kang Ta). so basically i remember it as Oli goes to korea to see Kang Ta and it actually works better then remembering that its about segmented, round worms blah blah blah. of cos i also picture Oli as an earthworm hahahaha. i think my instructor will kill me if he ever see my notes!
