here's chinatown in calgary! looks quite cheena ya. haha i wasnt expecting a lot for chinese new year but it was actually quite eventful. a lot of canadians participating as well. i thought the most exciting thing was seeing canadians doing the lion dance. that was really interesting, dont you think so? haha.
Jesicca's parents picked me up at 11.30am yesterday. it was a 1 and a half hours drive down to calgary, but the whole journey didnt seem that long cos we were busy chatting away. went her grandma's place first, after which we went to the mall and walked down the streets of chinatown with her brother and his girlfriend. had bubbletea too! tasted so good esp since i love bubble tea and havent had it for the longest time. my sister and i used to have one every sunday after church. i bumped into Bob (my cambodian friend) a couple of times today. its funny cos i saw him in the morning outside the school library, at the mall, and then again at the restaurant where we had dinner. all at 3 different places! canada is not that big after all haha. finally, we had dinner at this chinese restaurant. lots of good food like crabs, lobster, steam fish, bbq pork, shark's fin soup etc. it was so good! and then another long drive home.
the day before i had dinner at Colin's place. his wife and mum cooked fish curry and prata. good stuff! although it was instant prata but it tasted like heaven haha. cant wait to have more so i bought a lot of those at the chinese supermarket in calgary. Colin and his wife gave me an ang pow packet which i thought was quite cute haha. so guess i didnt miss out much for chinese new year afterall!
