Rugby Women's World Cup
Woohoo! The game was awesome! Just got back about 3 hours ago. Amanda's mum drove down to Edmonton yesterday morning and the ride was about an hour and a half long. She dropped us off at West Edmonton Mall, which is the biggest mall in the world. They had everything there. Amusement park, animal shows, swimming pool, ice skating ring etc. There were hundreds of shops like Hollister, Old Navy, Abercrombie & Fitch. Wahahaha i like! Most importantly, they had a huge chinese supermaket and i went crazy in there. We stayed over at Amanda grandfather's place for the night.

Woke up at 9 this morning. I was so excited! I actually bought the tickets for the rugby game way back in April and this day has finally come. The Commonwealth Stadium was only 10mins away. Amanda and i were there around 11.15am for the first game at 12pm between USA and Scotland for 5th placing. USA won 24-0. Btw, we sat beside 3 Japanese girls who are national players and guess what! One of them is Tabi's friend!

Next up, it was between Canada and France for 3rd placing at 2.30pm. This game was quite exciting, also because practically everyone was rooting for Canada. But i thought France had better possession of the ball. This game was also very aggressive. First time i see girls fighting in a rugby game! The score was 17-8, in favour of France.

Finally, it was the finals between England and New Zealand at 5pm. The game was very intense. Both teams were so damn strong that the score was 3-3 at half time. As soon as the second half started, New Zealand scored the first try at the 1st minute. From then on, the game got even more exciting. You could see that the England team was feeling the pressure. Both their tries were scored through driving the scrum to the try line. And at the 39.54min (i still remember very clearly!), New Zealand scored again at the very last instant and that was a very beautiful try. What a great way to end the game! I must say that this is the best match i've ever watched. New Zealand won 25-17.

Fortunately, it didnt rain today. Still, it was very cold and the temperature was 1 degrees celsius. Imagine sitting out there for 7 hours! People were literally all wrapped up in blankets. I was frozen haha. However, this weekend was the best 2 days i had since i came here, especially today. The whole experience was fantastic!
